Security License Check

To conduct a security license check of a D license, licensees can use the Division of licensing website. A security license in Florida is valid for two years and, if not renewed within 90 days of expiration, will require the license holder to reapply with a new Class D License application. If a person is no longer providing security services and seeking to see the status of their license, they can do a security license check through the state’s public records on their website.

How do you check the status of MY license

Licensees have a couple of options to check the status of their security licenses. First, the security guard can call the Division of licensing at 850-245-5665 to talk to a state representative to check the status of their security license. Another option for licensees who ask “How do I check the status of my security license”, by accessing the state’s website and conducting a public records check. A pubic record check for the security license can be found at the following link https://www.fdacs.gov/Business-Services/Private-Security-Licenses/Search-for-a-Licensee. The state only keeps a licensee record on file for four years before purging the data of expired licenses of security guards. Any person can conduct a license check of a security guard or security agency in the State of Florida.
